Maybe another time. Thanks anyway.
Ahhhh another soloist :). I also tend to avoid the big group rides now, as I did many bike nights and rode with many people of all different skill levels, many times was nearly taken out or almost took out fellow riders due to bad judgements and rider errors..... Now I mostly prefer to ride solo, unless I know/trust you and your ability's.

John, you may want to check out BayAreaRidersForums.com. There should be some pretty good routes to be found there. I sort of agree with you, Duckhunter, but until I finally decide to get a Spot Beacon I will only go on rides with at least one other person.

Hwy 128 to Knoxville/Berryessa all the way to the top and out to Hwy 29. Lots of fun if a little water is running over the THREE over-the-road-levees on the way. The ride back from Lower Clear Lake Via Hwy 20 East to South HWY 16 is okay since all the traffic is going the other way.

That's what I tried recently. I came across three water crossings, only about 2 inches deep, but as I got farther north on Knoxville road, these crossings got a little deeper and the last one was slicker than greased snot with algae. That was at least 8 or 10 miles shy of Lower Lake and 29. The road was single lane, pitted and rutted only half paved. Shaking the sh!t out of my bike and even an FI code. So I turned around and went to Lower Chiles road. Then turned right on up the hill on Butts Cyn. Rd. Ended up in Middletown, got gas, and came down the hill on 29 south, then left turn onto 128 east.

Somewhere on Knoxville Rd, where I turned around.
