So in upstate ny i havent rode the rc51 in about a month because of temps an road conditions. Just wonderin who else suffers from winter blues?
It sucks walkin into the garage an seein that bike sitting there on race stands an will be there till atleast April (sigh) I find myself often going out to the garage an just lookin at the bike or just start tinkerin with stuff or cleaning the bike ( btw the bike is spotless) so its kinda a waste to clean it more

i hear ya man, i was out and about over the weekend and saw a couple of nice bikes hammering along the road and said to my wife "thats not fucking fair, looks at those guys enjoying their bikes!"

but she made me feel better (and you probably) by replying "yeah babe their hands are probable to numb their hands are about to fall off and while your bikes in winterstorage and nice and clean, their bikes are slowly being destroyed by winter salt and sludge"

good point i think you agree man

Funnily enough I haven't ridden to work for the past two days because it's been way too hot and humid to even think about putting my ventilated summer jacket and gloves on.

I'm the opposite guys, I like the winter down time. Gives me a chance to clean, repair and add any new bits and pieces.

I have a great lady who knows that come riding season I'm GONE. Lots of road trips and the odd track day, so come winter we spend a lot of time together and snow shoe, snow board, we break out her dad's sleds and spend time at her cabin. Also lots of time with family.

My wife is always asking if I have any ride or track day scheduled with my buddies.
Or if there's a racing event I would like to fly to drive to attend.
Back in 2001, after a long 20 year dry spell without a bike, she's the one who told me to go buy one.
Apparently she got tired of me pacing in the house like caged tiger.
It's not that she's into bikes or racing, she just wants me to be happy. And that's why I love her. :)

The only down side is, she's always give me "that look" when she sees all the boxes full of "toys" to install on the bike, and gives me hints that I should work on making that pile of boxes smaller.

Oh I know that "look" all too well...I think they take classes in high school on how to give that look. ;)

Rode into work today dispite the fact it's still so hot and sticky. Guess i was feeling sorry for you northern cousins trapped in your igloo's. At least I should be able to get some relief by the pool and beach over the next couple of days. :p :D

I wish I were just as crazy as the rest of you. Unfortunately, life gets in the way. My RC sits in a covered garage with a cover. There are very few houses here in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, that have enclosed, cooled or heated garages. Good side to all this is I can ride year 'round. Summers are a little hot, but I've still gone out when it's been 55 deg. C +. Not very enjoyable, but those temps last only 4 months tops. By the way. I love your RC, Wingnut. Makes me want to cry knowing my bike sits outside my house (!).
Take care.
Ride safe & Friendly.

Dr. Rahi.

WOW  55 deg C!!! you win Muhammad. Here I'm whining that it's too hot at about 35 deg C, I could probably top you in the humidity stakes though, my guess is you would get a rather dry heat.

Oh, just to make all those freezing their butts off at the moment even more jealous. I guess your best riding weather is in winter too, we usually get beautiful cool and crisp sunny mornings that warm up to mid 20's deg C around lunch time.

Sorry guys, I'll quit now before I start receiving death threats.

Yup. You're right, Trojan. It's a very dry heat here in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the humidity in the low teens during the Summer. These days it's a little higher, since its' rained off & on for the last week. The temperature hovers in the low 20 deg C during the day & about 15 Deg C at night. Right now it's 1030 hrs. & it's a beautiful crisp, cool & sunny Friday morning & I'm about to have a cup of English tea. (a remnant reminder of my Colonial Past). The weekends here are Thursdays & Fridays. And I work just ten 24 hr. shifts a month, so basically work is an annoyance that gets in the way of my time with my RC (!).
Rockintwisties2011, you're a better man than I am. I've been in NY during the winters & I fear that if I were to stay any longer than I usually do, my Dr. Jekyll personality might morph into Mr. Hyde.
And guys, I just realized something. Ya'll know my name & where I live. Should I be worried ??!??
Take Care & Ride Safe & Friendly.

Dr. Rahi.
