Hey guys. I got a question wonder if anyone else experienced this. I had recently purchased and installed Yoshi pipes on my 2002 Rc51. The bike was running fine before the install but is running like crap afterwards. I've tried different maps off the power commander site but the bike is still not running well at all. I'm just wondering if a custom Dyno tune will solve this? Just wondering what your opinions are.

What pipes did it have prior to the Yoshimura's? Stock?
If so, a dyno mapping should correct the problem if pipes are the sole reason.
I've never downloaded a map online. I've only put mine on the dyno.
The main reason is my local shop charges full price for an initial mapping, but only 1/2 price for a re-map.

When I bought my bike, it had a Jardine 2-1 pipe with RS3 muffler attached.
I'm guessing the previous owner never had it mapped properly (even though it had a PCIIIr) since it had a massive lean spot at 5800 RPM.
As you approached 5600 you could feel the power fall off and at 5800 it was so lean it started mis-firing.
If you persisted and reached 6000 it took off and ran fine.
So I had it fully mapped and it ran fine.
When I replaced that system with a Akrapovic full system, I again had it remapped.
Fortunately, my local shop only charges 1/2 price for a remap.
